Job Description

Walters People have partnered with a leading business based in Birmingham who are looking for Accounts Payable Clerk on a permanent basis. The role would best suit a confident individual who can work independently, demonstrating a high level of initiative,paying up to £24,000 based on experience.Walters People have partnered with a leading business based in Birmingham who are looking for Accounts Payable Clerk on a permanent basis. The role would best suit a confident individual who can work independently, demonstrating a high level of initiative,paying up to £24,000 based on experience.Key Responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Clerk:

  • You will be responsible for managing account queries on all suppliers and arranging and undertaking regular account reviews in accordance with set targets
  • Answering telephone calls and e-mail queries from vendors and internal customers
  • Managing payment terms in accordance with terms set by our Clients Commercial team
  • Collating and producing manual payment requests, monitoring of Payment Request mail box
  • Monitoring of Supplier Ledger Update (SLU) inbox and liaising with vendors and team APL to ensure up to date contact details are stored and utilised
  • Adhering to process flows outlined for legal correspondence
  • Management and control of master supplier records
  • Ensuring that accounts payable best practice standards are adhered to
  • Highlighting areas of improvement and initiating ideas to improve the overall standard and effectiveness of themselves, their team and the Accounts Payable Department
  • Data input, processing of unit and overhead costs
  • International payments processing and reconciliation
  • Processing of Fixed assets/capex
  • Preparation and collation of hardcopy data for scanning
About you as the Accounts Payable Clerk:
  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role
  • An understanding of the importance of maintaining the supplier relationship
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Clear and focused drive to achieve cash collection targets
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a proven record
  • Ability to work using own initiative
  • Good problem-solving skills and a solution driven approach
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office packages inclusive of MS Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Clear and focused drive to achieve agreed team service levels
