Robert Walters: Public Sector Division - Permanent Accounts Assistant Vacancy - Birmingham - Up to £21,700 to £25,000 per annum - Charity and Not-For-Profit Sector We currently have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a driven Accounts Assistant to join a highly ethical charitable organisation who support a fantastic cause, this will be an additional role within a well established team able to support your personal development. Role: Accounts Assistant Role Type: Permanent Salary: Up to £21,700 to £25,000 per annum Working Type: You will need to attend the Birmingham office for training and after this the role can be work from home or hybrid working Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will be at the point of starting AAT level 2 or 3 and be working towards progressing their qualifications, as well as having 1 years experience in a finance roleDuties of the Accounts Assistant:* Responsible for the maintenance of Purchase Ledger and Petty Cash and reconciliation of control accounts* Checking and inputting data onto the Associations financial system as required e.g. purchase invoices, cashbook processing, credit card transactions etc.* Handle daily and weekly banking activities, including cashbook analysis* Compile, sort, verify, reconcile and analyse the accuracy of data entered and produce reports and listings from data entered* Liaise with suppliers regarding statements and invoice queries, and reconciliation of supplier accounts* Deal with managers regarding the use of the Purchase Order management software (currently Focalpoint) and any other finance queries* Process day to day banking activities, including preparation and processing of BACS payment runs* Undertake period end activities and reporting and participate in audit preparation and process, producing information as required by senior managers* Promote and support a professional service within the Finance Department* Participate in training and development activities in order to ensure that personal skills and knowledge remain at the required standard for the role* Deploy personal resources in a manner that achieves the purpose of the job and the aims and objectives of the Finance Department and the wider Association* Ensure that the aims, objectives and targets both of the post and the Finance* Department are met* Promptly advise manager of the impact on the service of issues within immediate* scope of work* Ensure that all records and entries within scope of work are correct and in accordance with Standing Financial Instructions, Guidelines and Legislation* Continuous review and development of financial, administrative processes within the immediate scope of work and in response to new legislation, guidance and other changes* Preparation of a variety of financial, administrative and other information, within the scope of the post including month end and final accounts, budget cycle, projects, briefing notes and reports etc.* Initiate, attend and participate where appropriate in working parties or meetings as a representative of the Finance Department* Assist, support and provide guidance to immediate colleagues and the senior management team* Training colleagues on a formal and/or informal basis within scope of work* Take an active role in ensuring corrective action is taken when potential problems occur within daily dutiesIf you are interested in this position please forward your CV to Lauren Freeman and applications will be called in order of receipt.Robert Walters Operations Limited is an employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates
