Job Description

Import Export Clerk - Birmingham Airport - Logistics/Distribution Salary : £26K Base rising to £29K after probation Hours of work - 5pm to 1am - 40 hours a week Our Client is a market leader in the Logistics Industry The Role As the Import & Export Clerk you will support and advise customers on all international import / export requirements relating to their freight transiting and being delivered seamlessly, ensuring that we remain compliant at all times. Responsibilities

  • Have 3+ years experience in an Import, Export and Customs Compliance role with exposure to both Air and Road operations.
  • Fully conversant with import and export laws and regulation.
  • An understanding and working knowledge of ITSF.
  • Experience working with HMRC & Border Force to include CHIEF and CDS.
Skills and Experience
  • export documents need to be processed within 30 minutes of receipt from customers to ensure that the service is maintained with minimal disruption to the Air and Road loading operation. Transportation documents and manifests ready for transmission to Irelandby 00:30
  • Export clearance and final manifests need to be correct in order to prevent disruption to the Irish import clearance process. Exporting customers must be able to receive their customs releases from EU customer authorities within 24 hours of freight leavingthe EU.
  • Stats and process improvement:
  • Cutting AWBs
  • Building the flight manifests
  • Filing of safety and security declarations.
  • Maintain the reporting for transactional charging (import, export, screening, handling).
  • Query resolutions for customers and customs.
  • Clear demarcations of where responsibilities and handovers exist between European Gateways and the UK/Ireland.
