Job Description

Bringing a range of data science and statistical modelling experience your expertise will drive the development of analytical, tools techniques, models, and outputs to support business decision making and customer value initiatives.Interfacing cross functionally youll engage with stakeholders to develop and enhance complex statistical & ML solutions to derive commercially valuable business information.The work is challenging, highly technical and is less about routine data production/reporting but more about devising and proving innovative statistical solutions to drive operational & commercial thinking.Selection of accountabilities

• To interrogate and further develop a portfolio of existing analytical/statistical models to support high profile business initiatives
• Creation of NEW data science applications and analytical outputs that facilitate and yield better business decision making
• Collaborate with multiple business areas (IT, Commercial, Marketing, Business Planning + external suppliers), developing a joined-up approach to business improvement via analytics
• Devise and lead a programme to ensure the profile of analytics & science in the business is held in high commercial regard, ensure tools technology & outputs make the best decisions at point of work
• Prepare written analysis and present findings to senior managers on a regular basis, making effective use of data visualisation to "tell the story"
• Generate consistent analysis to drive actionable insights to help define business objectives and support those objectives

Skills Required

• Excellent STEM based qualification
• Strong subject matter expertise in data science & statistics (minimum 4 years experience)
• Able to work quickly, independently and in a statistically rigorous manner to turn raw data into business insight and value
• Have great technology and mathematical skills combined with excellent written and verbal communication
• Experienced deploying statistical modelling techniques in a previous role: chi squared |regression | hazard function | duration analysis | churn modelling
• Have a passion for working in a collaborative way with key business stakeholders to deliver great insight
• Able demonstrate an ability to create a great working relationship with business owners
• Demonstrable success in the analysis of large data sets and of carrying out complex statistical analysis on large datasets using R, MATLAB, SPSS, Python SAS or similar software
• Experience of using relational databases and SQL
• A creative and empirical approach to problem-solving and the ability to innovate, enhance, and improve the working environment
• Track record of distilling complex information into compelling visualisations and actions
• Ability to manage multiple partners and requests, prioritise and deliver to tight deadlines
• Can-do attitude and the determination to achieve results
• Hands-on self-starter with the combination of analytic and commercial skills to work out what needs doing and then act upon it
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate the results of complex analyses to a non-specialist audience and to interact with cross-functional business units in an effective manner
