Job Description

They are looking to double their team this year.The purpose of this role is to be the tax specialist assisting with client meetings and providing training across the whole company.Key Responsibilities:

  • Staying abreast of industry developments and legislative changes relevant to R&D tax relief and other innovation incentives.
  • Overseeing the submission of R&D claims to HMRC ensuring in line with current statutory requirements.
  • Preparing and delivering training sessions across the whole company
  • Assisting the marketing team with tax knowledge for articles.
  • Developing and delivering other opportunities around taxation for clients.
  • Supporting with any possible future HMRC enquiries.
  • Duties:
  • Contribute to health, safety and well-being of staff and clients.
  • Maintain and develop positive internal and external communications.
  • Attend regular team meetings.
  • To adhere to all other policies and procedures.
  • To actively participate in staff development programmes, including induction, relevant or mandatory staff training.
  • Commitment to continuous development.
  • Essential Skills and Knowledge:
  • Preferably from a practice background
  • Proven work experience as a tax specialist
  • Minimum ATT qualified and hold professional body membership
  • Preferably CTA qualified or near completion
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Commercial awareness
  • Advanced Excel
  • The ability to interpret and explain complex legislation to non-specialists
  • A flexible approach to work
  • Strong work ethic, with the ability to prioritise own workload
  • Good listening and communication skills
