Job Description

Head of Asset Compliance andBuilding SafetyHousing AssociationAbout The Client:Castlefield Recruitment are working with a Merseyside based housing association who are looking to appoint a permanent Head of Asset Compliance and Building Safety to lead the development and delivery of the strategic approach to effectively managing LandlordCompliance.Head of Asset Compliance and Building SafetyHousing AssociationAbout The Role:

  • Strategic responsibility for ensuring compliance with Landlord statutory obligations and regulatory undertakings including the role of Building Safety Manager. The development and implementation of a risk management approach, in particular ensure compliancewith Gas Safety (installation and Use) Regulations, Fire Safety Act 2021 and the draft Building Safety Bill.
  • Maintain comprehensive, up to date information on all Landlord Compliance risks where there is an obligation to customers, colleagues or third parties. Ensure suitable systems and data management to record all testing, inspection and remedial works.
  • Translate strategy, policy and procedures into objectives, KPIs, management information, with clear mechanisms in place for reporting to Boards, management and appropriate governance levels.
  • Manage the budgets, resources and priorities of the team ensuring effective and efficient use of resources to deliver agreed performance targets and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead the development and delivery of the strategic approach to effectively managing Landlord Compliance statutory obligations and regulatory undertakings that reduces the risk, to customers, employees and third parties. Be the responsible person for LandlordCompliance functions ensuring the delivery of a first class quality and value for money service
  • Lead on the development of a Residents Engagement Strategy for promoting the participation of relevant persons in the making of building safety decisions.
  • Responsible for the senior management and strategic overview of the delivery and inspection regime of all aspects of compliance responsibilities in relation to higher-risk buildings, gas, electric, fire, legionella, asbestos, lifts and mechanical maintenance.
  • Responsible for the suitable and sufficient assessment of higher-risk buildings in order to identify, record and mitigate or manage appropriately the building safety risks relating to the building.
  • Responsible for the preparation of a safety case report covering an assessment of the building safety risks relating to the building, and any steps that have been taken under in relation to those risks.
  • Responsible for up to date information and reporting systems relating to the higher-risk building and the provision of such information to the regulator when required.
  • To be the key point of contact for all advice related to complying with statutory compliance for the organisation.
Head of Asset Compliance and Building SafetyHousing AssociationWhat You Need:
  • Extensive experience of successfully managing a compliance and/or building safety team, being responsible for managing risk Relevant knowledge on current legislation relating to gas servicing, electrical installation, legionella prevention, working withasbestos and fire risk prevention
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation in relation to repairs and maintenance / construction legislative framework
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management or other relevant Fire Safety qualification accredited by the IFE or IFSM or equivalent.
