Job Description

A bit about our business:Siroma Ltd is a flavours and chemical blending company. We create and manufacture flavours for the food, beverage, e-liquids and animal feed markets and biocide cleaning products to the retail sector. We are a small family-owned but fast growing organisation who are looking to improve our team with an individual who is flexible, hard-working, able to work under pressure and in a disciplined and independent way.The purpose of the role:The role will be split across working in the laboratory on development projects and in production to manufacture the final products. Candidates with skills in either production and/or the laboratory should apply, as skills are very transferable across the two. We would love to bring someone in that is looking to broaden their experience and position in the organisation.Key Accountabilities:Manufacturing flavour and chemical blends:

  • Operating plant and equipment to mix, filter, manufacture, transfer and pack product
  • Working logically through a batch sheet or formulation to collect, accurately weigh and blend ingredients
  • Handling raw materials and manufacturing products by complying with the information within the MSDS’s, risk and COSHH assessment
  • Use of FLT and manual handling equipment to move heavy ingredients e.g. drums and packs
  • Completing and maintaining all relevant manufacturing, labelling and distribution paperwork to time and accurately
    • Laboratory work:
  • Working logically through a formulation to collect, accurately weigh and mix ingredients
  • Setting up new product lines for tasting and testing
  • Sitting on the tasting panel to test the organoleptics of new products
    • Maintaining high levels of hygiene and housekeeping, observing company policies and operating clean-as-you-go’ practices consistent with HACCP, GMP and general BRC standardsManaging the booking and scheduling of finished products being dispatched, and creating and filing the associated paperworkManaging the quality control testing of all manufactured productsDepending on the aspirations of the candidate, the role has scope to develop into other areas of the business including , procurement, systems, analysis etc.Adherence to daily, monthly and quarterly checks / audits Required skills
