Job Description

Financial Accountant (Part Qualified)Birkenhead£25,000- £30,000Hybrid working offered- 2 days from home.Our client are looking to recruit a part qualified financial accountant on a full time permanent basis to assist with the management of the Companys financial requirements. Working closely with senior management the role will offer development and progressionin a busy and sometimes challenging environmentResponsibilities

  • Responsible for month end revenue recognition and cost of sales for schemes and claims.
  • To ensure prompt and accurate collection of monthly direct debits from customers.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for several group companies, including expense variance analysis and reporting.
  • Monthly analysis in preparation for the annual audit and tax computations, including key cost analysis, interest summaries
  • Production of weekly deposits returns to customers, ensure the repayment process is operated accurately and recorded on the system and workings for reconciliation purposes.
  • Preparation of the monthly payment process, ensuring payments are made accurately and on a timely basis, in order to ensure external relationships are maintained with key business partners.
  • Responsible for several monthly bank reconciliations as requested by the Finance Manager.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including analysis of Intercompany balances, Debtors and Creditors reconciliations.
  • Weekly review of aged policies by investigating outstanding balances and migrated balances, resolving through discussion with IT department, completing write offs (in line with the agreed policy) and returning funds to customers
  • To support the Finance Manager in the further development of accounting procedures and controls
  • Working with the Business Intelligence team to develop the core system, including testing for any core system improvements or bug fixes.
  • To liaise with external parties ensuring that the business needs of the company are met. Carrying out any external reporting as required, including monthly and annual ONS surveys.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required to assist the Finance Manager and Finance Team.
Experience / Skills
  • Part Qualified ACA/ACCA/ACA Accountant.
  • Experience of working in a similar role within Finance.
  • Understanding of UK accounting principles
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience of Microsoft Navision reporting system (desirable).
  • Ability to understand and navigate bespoke systems that are tailored to needs of company in order to carry out requirements of role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Accurate and attentive to detail, with good time management and organisation skills.
  • Flexible, pro-active and a problem solver, who can use own initiative when carrying out tasks and improving processes.
  • Ability to challenge and improve current procedures.
