Job Description

Our client is now looking for a Contracts Manager- Fire Safety to join their busy team!Salary: £44,103 + Car AllowanceThe role of Contracts ManagerFire Safety will report directly to the Head of Asset Compliance & Building Safety and has responsibility for managing a small team of people who support this role.Contracts Manager Duties:

  • Ensure the organisation meets its statutory, legislative, and regulatory responsibilities regarding Fire Safety across its property portfolio.
  • Ensure that our customers are engaged with whilst remaining safe in their home.
  • Be our organisations lead and subject matter expert in these areas.
  • Lead and work collaboratively on the procurement, management and performance of contractor/s delivering compliance works.
  • Lead and work collaboratively on the development and implementation of a new compliance-based software system.
  • Ensure that accurate/ certified data, certification is in place and held within the organisations systems.
  • Be the responsible person/ manager for the overall procurement, implementation, management, delivery, reporting and performance of all property-related regulatory and statutory compliance requirements regarding Fire Safety.
  • Provide clear, positive leadership, guidance and support within the organisation that ensures targets are achieved and maintained.
  • Be the driving force for raising awareness of asset compliance within the organisation and externally in a meaningful, clear, and collaborative manner.
  • Identify and champion value for money improvements, including how budgets are allocated and used.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to identify and mitigate risks within the area of compliance whilst developing and implement corrective actions in a timely manner which address and mitigate any exposure to non-compliance action across the organisation.
  • Champion and drive a culture of continuous improvement, positive engagement, and respect.
  • Challenge business approaches/ standards which are ineffective/ out of date and take the organisation forward in improving services.
  • Ensure the highest standard of customer excellence by taking responsibility for team behaviours and performance. Implement and embed new working practices that enhance the services and the customer experience.
  • Work closely with colleagues, partners, and contractors etc. to ensure a collaborative approach is taken in delivering services whilst being open, honest, fair, and respectful.
  • Be committed to the organisations principles, vision and values and ensure that all our customers are safe in their homes.
Contracts Manager Requirements:
  • Professional qualification in property/building related area (MIFSM, MCIOB, MRICS, CMIOSH, MBIFM
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate or equivalent
  • Certificate of Applied Fire Risk Assessment or equivalent
  • Level 4 Diploma or equivalent in fire safety or related qualification or equivalent
  • Evidence of continual professional experience.
  • High level of knowledge in relation to housing association compliance services, regulation, and best practice
  • Developing, reviewing, and implementing policies and procedures consistent with statutory and regulatory requirements/ best practice.
  • Procurement of works and associated forms of contract.
  • Undertaking risk assessments.
  • Experience of developing & managing budgets in line with agreed targets.
  • Experience of managing & developing staff.
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring staff and providing leadership to meet team objectives.
  • Experience of involving users in the planning and delivery of services & customer focussed services.
  • Managing consultants and contractors in the delivery of compliance-based services.
  • Providing specialist advice and guidance on compliance-based services.
  • Working at a management level.
  • Experience of implementing new initiatives
  • Full driving licence and able to use own vehicle for work
