Job Description

Reed Accountancy have an excellent opportunity to join amulti million pound turnover company based in Bingley, who are recruiting for a Tax Manager to join their large Finance Team on a 12 month FTC.Summary of role:Ideal first step for a tax professional into a varied industry role in an ambitious international business. The individual will be responsible for overseeing the international tax affairs of the Group, including corporate tax and VAT. The work included will be as diverse as leading the BEPS review of the group structure, tackling an R&D reclaim as well as maintaining the day to day compliance of the Group.Preference will be given to candidates with a background in international corporate tax. Experience of VAT is advantageous but not essential.Key responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for tax compliance across the Group.
  • Leading projects with advisors. Key projects will include:
  • Reviewing group structure, PE risks, and transfer pricing arrangements.
  • R&D reclaim, implementing systems to identify reclaims going forwards and managing the relationship with our external tax advisors.
  • Protective VAT claim.
  • International taxation of electronic products.
  • Responsibility for preparing a number of indirect tax returns and the preparation of direct tax returns both for the Group’s UK companies and the worldwide subsidiaries.
  • Monitoring and maintaining of deadlines for tax returns and tax payments worldwide
  • To maintain the ongoing compliance with internal risk management policies and identify process improvements both within the UK Group and the worldwide subsidiaries.
  • Assisting in the Group’s active M&A programme.
  • Establishing overseas subsidiaries.
  • Liaising with HR on employee benefits, including reviewing P11Ds.
  • Reviewing tax returns prepared in and out of house.
  • Reviewing overseas accounts prepared by overseas team members.
  • Role specific competencies:Qualifications and experience:
  • Equivalent of ACA or CTA qualified.
  • Post qualification tax experience of working with group companies with an international reach.
  • Preference will be given to a candidate with a background in international tax.
  • VAT/employee benefit experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Skills:
  • Up to date technical knowledge of UK corporate tax and awareness of UK VAT rules.
  • Knowledge of international tax environment.
  • Ability to keep track of legislation changes and requirements.
  • Curious & proactive ability to research new and unknown technical areas. Draw conclusions and recommendations from the research.
  • Confident in managing external advisors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
