Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies based in Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees specialise in developing and manufacturing processes for customer’s biologic drugs and offering stability studies to support customer drug substance and drug products.With plants in Billingham UK, Hillerod Denmark, North Carolina and Texas USA our Global Vision is to be the leading and most trusted global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation partner in the biopharmaceutical industry.As we continue on a period of significant growth we have an opportunity for both Technical Project Leaders and Senior Technical Project Leaders to join the Company.As Technical Project Leader you will manage client technical programs comprising the Process Development and cGMP manufacture of Biologics molecules generated in mammalian (CHO) and microbial (E.coli, yeast) expression systems.This challenging role requires a senior scientist who has excellent people skills to manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams.You will be the primary technical point of call for the Customer on a program, and your role will be to guide and inform them through the Project stages from Tech Transfer through to GMP manufacture.Applying your technical expertise to ensure milestones are met on time and to budget you will support our vision to be the most trusted CDMO partner in the industry.We are looking for a highly capable individual who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of protein biochemistry and recombinant protein expression as well as experience of leading and managing technical project teams.Ideally you will possess knowledge and practical experience of modern protein purification techniques or knowledge and practical experience of microbial /mammalian cell culture with regards to expression of recombinant proteins.The role requires an individual who is skilled in project management techniques including detailed planning, execution and completion of projects (adhering to deadlines, resource level and budget).You will be tasked with the delivery of complex technical elements of customer development programs by application of extensive scientific knowledge and innovative solutions. Demonstrating a methodical approach to problem solving, you will have strong analytical skills.Key to the role is the ability to identify key process risks at the start of a program and mitigate these through the lifetime of the project, thus maximising success.You will need to react to shifting priorities and demands and show flexibility during times of change, in order to keep a project on track.You must possess the ability to apply leadership skills including influencing, delegation, supervision, fostering teamwork and thinking strategically. Strong presentation skills and experience in effective interpersonal communication and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences, including Senior Management Level are important attributes in the ideal candidate.Experience or awareness of cGMP and the Development and Approvals process for Biologics would be an advantage as well as experience in matrix management systems.We offer a generous benefits package including;
