Job Description

Subcontract ManagerCompetitive SalaryBillingham (Fixed Term Contract)About the Role Do you have a proven track record within the Electrical Contracting Industry, managing safety, finance, and quality in addition to the cradle to grave, delivery of projects and you have previous experience of working on contracts with an E&I value in rangefrom £1k to £1M SPIE UK have the perfect role for you available now!Based on site in Billingham, the Subcontract Manager will be responsible for delivering the subcontract element of projects and small works including procurement, cost control, estimating projects, price variations and forecasting end of life contract costsand sales values. Ensuring order numbers are issued to subcontractors and site management of Subcontractors.A competitive salary will be offered with excellent benefits and a realistic career progression. The role will be offered as an FTC until Dec 2022.Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure that projects and small works are carried out safely
  • Develop effective working relationships with team members and clients
  • Work with Clients to produce a relationship that results in repeat business
  • Ensure Project Engineering services are delivered to plan, to programme and within budget
  • Ensure Project Engineering and technical standards are maintained throughout the work, meeting specification requirements and in accordance with Quality Management Systems and Control
  • Provide management reports as required and to agreed schedules
  • Ensure understanding of the contract conditions and engineering standards and specifications that apply to each assigned project & area of work and ensure that all considerations are accounted for in the execution of work
  • Produce or review risk assessments and method statements to comply with Health and Safety requirements/ legislation
  • Sequence and programme work, establishing work scope, specifications, programmes, and cost control of sub-contracted works
Key Skills
  • Be in possession of City and Guilds Electrical / Instrumentation Installation and Safety qualifications
  • Strong HSEQ management awareness
  • Strong financial awareness including financial monitoring, control, and forecasting
  • Able to complete estimates from client information
  • Produce reports and meet deadlines including the ability to survey productivity and progress
  • Ability to sequence and programme the works, utilising different planning and programming methods/ techniques to meet SPIE, client and project requirements
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to produce and deliver presentations
  • Flexibility of approach to client requirement (Desirable)
