Job Description

Job Role: Process TechnicianLocation: Billingham Duration: PermanentShifts: Dayshift 37.5hrs per week - Monday to Thursday 07:30-16:00 - Friday 07:30-12:30Salary: £35,000 per annum The Role:We are a leading foundry known for our commitment to quality and excellence. Now, were searching for a Foundry Process Technician to join our team and play a pivotal role in optimizing our manufacturing processes.Key Responsibilities:As a Foundry Process Technician, your primary responsibilities include:

  • Process Familiarity: Get to know our current manufacturing processes thoroughly.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and review our current practices with the goal of enhancing product quality.
  • Process Control: Take ownership of current process controls to maximize the quality of our products.
  • Documentation: Maintain, review, and update work instructions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with the moulding team to maintain and review current sand and resin testing requirements.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and collate data from research and development (R&D) trials. Present findings to the technical and production teams.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Support investigations into root causes for process-related issues.
  • Technical Projects: Assist with technical projects from inception to completion.
  • Laboratory Support: Aid internal laboratories in ensuring Optimat material data aligns with internal specifications.
  • Product Inspection: Inspect and oversee the dispatch of products between our Billingham and Sheffield locations.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct internal audits in accordance with certification requirements.
  • Safety: Prioritize safety in all activities, adhering to the clients safety standards and procedures.
  • Equipment Calibration: Monitor the calibration of machines and equipment in compliance with approved schedules.
Qualifications and Skills:To excel in this role, you should bring the following qualifications and skills:

  • Manufacturing Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing or factory setting.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to understand and implement detailed instructions and procedures effectively.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and adaptable attitude towards work, ready to embrace change.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Quality Focus: Deep understanding of quality rules and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Team Player: Experience working effectively as part of a team.
  • Foundry Experience: Experience in a foundry environment is advantageous.
