CDS Recruitment and Training Ltd are working with our client who have an opportunity for an experienced Manual Machine Prepper to join them on a permanent basis. Duties Include Operation of manual lathe to machine various weld bevels on tubes. Working directly from engineering drawings and/or written instructions. Inspecting own work and completed parts using various mechanical instruments (e.g., Protractors, verniers & micrometres) Ensure all appropriate shift documentation is completed. On/offloading of tubes from racks and storage using an overhead crane. Working confidently in the Machine Shop, which is part of a larger manufacturing, fabrication and assembly process. Working safely throughout all activities in line with company safety standards and procedures. The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience: Experience of machining in a manufacturing environment / experience of using large manual machine tools would be an advantage. Able to work to tolerance and accurately use measuring equipment. Willingness to undertake any training and learn the required skills to be successful in this role. Manual Handling experience would be advantageous. Pendant Crane, Lifting & Slinging Experience would be advantageous. Be a versatile team player and able to build strong working relationships. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. A good understanding of health & safety, environmental issues and quality rules.
