Job Description

Our client, is a leading stockist and supplier of pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, and associated products to industries including oil, gas, power, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, water & gas utilities, marine and nuclear.We are recruiting a HSEQ Assistant to support group management with the day to day running of the HSEQ systems and is an ideal position for someone looking to start or continue their career in health, safety, environment, and quality with opportunities fortraining and continual professional development.Responsibilities:Reporting to the Group QMS Manager and the UK Group HSE Coordinator, the HSEQ Assistant will be employed within the Management Systems Department and the role will include the following activities:

  • Assist with internal auditing activities
  • Manage plant, equipment, calibration, and related records
  • Management of non-conformances including producing reject notes, liaising with salespeople, suppliers and clients re the resolving and completion of corrective and preventative actions
  • Maintain the Group Supplier Certification Log
  • Assist in maintaining various HSEQ logs, registers, and schedules
  • Manage requests to add new third-party suppliers
  • Organise bookings/orders with external suppliers (e.g., training, PPE etc.)
  • Ensure contractors and suppliers comply with policy and procedures; ensure all relevant contractor information is held
  • Update and monitor a range of established databases for reporting
  • Conduct HSE inspection(s), record inspection findings, prepare data for reporting
  • Support HSEQ programs and compliance to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
Skills/Experience:
  • Strong knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Good overall IT skills (some of the activities will involve the use of a company specific software system in which training will be provided.)
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Able to work in a team as well as independently
  • Versatile and willing to learn
  • Desirable:
    • Trained with experience in ISO 9001:2015 Internal auditing
    • Previous relevant Health & Safety experience
IOSH QualificationThis is a permanent position and based in Stockton on Tees/Billingham area.
