Job Description

Are you an experienced Health and Safety Professional Are you able to promote a positive Health and Safety culture amongst staff and contractors across multiple sitesWe currently have the availability for an HSE & Training Coordinator for a client based in Wynyard, within the role you will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of all Health and Safety, and Fire Safety matters, including policy implementation,monitoring and inspection, risk assessment, investigation and delivery of training.Your main duties within the position will be:

  • Maintain a central register of risk assessments and ensure regular review as required
  • To investigate and record incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and report as appropriate, for example, file RIDDOR reports
  • To carry out specialised risk assessments such as Display Screen Equipment, New & Expectant Mother and Fire Risk Assessments as required
  • To provide advice and guidance to staff and other users of the sites, for example, contractors, and visitors, as required.
  • To assist the Maintenance Manager in all Health and Safety issues relating to the sites annual maintenance programme
  • Take on responsibility for HSE across the whole business
  • Develop, implement & control legionella practices across all sites
  • Conduct Safety audits across all sites and action findings using available resources
  • Arrange appropriate training for current First Aiders, Fire Marshalls and FLT drivers (refreshers etc)
  • Monitor manual handling requirements and arrange appropriate training
To be considered for the role you must meet some, or all, of the following criteria:
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Able to work without regular supervision/management
  • Able to motivate people to change their behaviour
  • ICT skills - good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Currently hold, or working towards, a NEBOSH General Certificate
