Job Description

Job Role: Estimator Location: BillinghamDuration: PermanentShifts: Dayshift 37.5hrs per week - Monday to Thursday 07:30-16:00 - Friday 07:30-12:30Salary: £35,000 per annum The roleWe are currently working with a leading manufacturing company known for dedication to quality and excellence. They are on the lookout for a skilled Estimator to join our team, based at our Billingham site, reporting to our Senior Proposals Engineer/Estimator.Key Responsibilities:As an Estimator, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Estimate Preparation: Develop estimates from clients enquiry packages for review and pricing by the Sales Director.
  • Client Specification Review: Carefully review client specifications to ensure a deep understanding of project requirements.
  • Quotation Preparation: Prepare accurate and competitive quotations that align with the clients needs.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with manufacturing departments throughout the process of preparing bid documents.
  • Post-Bid Responses: Craft comprehensive responses to post-bid correspondence from clients.
  • Documentation: Prepare all necessary documents for the smooth handover of purchase orders to the Contracts Department.
  • Safety: Prioritize safety throughout all activities, adhering to the clients safety standards and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:To excel in this role, you should bring the following qualifications and skills:
  • Estimating and Sales Experience: Previous experience working in estimating and/or sales.
  • Engineering Drawing Interpretation: Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Technical Understanding: A solid grasp of welds, fabrication, and stainless alloys.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Packages, including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
  • AutoCAD Knowledge: A basic understanding of AutoCAD software would be beneficial.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Quality and Safety Focus: A good understanding of quality rules, health and safety, and environmental issues.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
