Bideford, DevonCirca £22,450 per annum Permanent, Part Time working 30 hours per weekGiving children and young people the foundations they need to thrive.The roleEarly Help can be provided no matter how simple or complex the situation. Early Help means responding promptly if a child is at immediate risk of harm (or has other significant needs), as much as it means responding to a need which only requires advice or guidance.Our Childrens Centres across Devon provide a range of services to support any parent with a child aged eight years and under who feels they would benefit from Early Help.We are recruiting for a Child and Family Practitioner to join our team in Bideford Bay. This role will require travel across Torridge, Bideford and Holsworthy. The work pattern for this role can be negotiated for the right candidate and will be discussed at interview stage.You will make a difference by:- Being responsible for a case load of complex Early Help support work.- Providing direct family support within the Early Help Service, through a blend of digital or face to face contact.- Chairing and coordinating the Team Around the Family meetings. - Undertaking a supervisory role across the Barnstaple and South Molton team.- Organising and running targeted groups and parenting programmes for service users.- Using a multi-agency approach and liaising with other professional bodies.You will need:-NVQ Level 3 in child care or equivalent is essential. - Degree qualified in education or social care is desirable.- Drivers Licence and access to own car is Essential. - Experience of child development is desirable. - Experience of managing a family support caseload. - Experience of working in a multi-agency response. - Experience of delivering parenting and group interventions. - Good understanding of Safeguarding.- Strong IT skills. - Ability to communicate effectively with young people, children, and their families.The way we workWe work to make sure every child and young person has the love, support and opportunity they need to reach their potential.
