Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join a well known established business in Beverley. Our client is looking for a motivated individual to join their Winter maintenance team.About the role:To work within an operational team, delivering a range of somewhat complex or varied activities within the provision of Winter Maintenance operations.To deliver an effective and efficient service that mitigates risk presented by the winter conditions within East Riding.* Project management of minor schemes / projects* Assist in the preparation and delivery of projects from conception to completion in accordance with the Councils practices and procedures* Assist with the Maintenance / updating and development of the systems in use to deliver the services* Maintain systems, data sets, rotas, time sheets and records * Liaison with stakeholders to assess needs and aid project delivery* Provision of technical advice and support to shareholders and user groups* Development of user manuals and provision of staff training* Assists in enabling the Council to comply with statutory duties* Assists with system administration and maintenance of key Street scene management systems* Assists with assessments and evaluation of plant, hardware and software* Investigates, identifies, respond and act upon internal and external enquiries to ensure a satisfactory outcome* Provide and collect information to assist in the monitoring of projects and related issues and provide technical reports as required* Record accurate and timely and relevant information to resolve disputes and queries and respond accordingly* Supervise the standard and quality of work undertaken by Agency staff, contractors and consultants working on behalf of the Council* Delegate and supervise work to Technical Assistant and trainees plus occasional work experience students.* Deputise for Engineer as required.* Provide technical support to Senior Management.* To assist with delivery of relevant aspects of the Service Plan* Any duties and responsibilities appropriate to the grade and level of responsibility of the postEssential criteria for the role:* Good standard of literacy and numeracy * Ability to deal with a range of service requests* Interpersonal skills in both verbal and written forms and have the ability and confidence to present information to other team members* Able to work with diverse groups of people* Is a team player* Acts with integrity and honesty* Is self-aware and able to manage own performance* Understands the need for change* Embraces change and adopts a can do attitude* Ability to Work on own initiative* Capable of managing own workload and priorities* Flexible* Ability to deal with emergency situations* Thinks ahead and takes responsibility for improvement* Uses technology effectively such as hand held data collection devices* Uses technology to manage information* Willingness to work overtime and unsociable hours as required by the service and in times of emergency at short notice* Post holders duties will be a mix of office based duties and attendance on site to undertake meetings with members of the public and contractors* Cat B Driving licence Desirable criteria for the role:* Knowledge of Highways Act 1980, New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, together with associated Codes of Practice.* IOSH managing Safety qualification or similar.* Good understanding of risk management, Health and Safety and their application in the workplace.* Holder of HNC in a relevant discipline* Encourages others to use technology and assist with training.Salary & Working Pattern:£26k per year subject to experience, equating to £13.33 per hour paid weekly.Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours to be covered.If you feel you match the criteria for the role, please apply or for further information, please contact Denisa, Kelly or Sam on , or send a copy of your CV Gi Group Holdings Recruitment Limited group of companies includes Gi Recruitment Limited, Draefern Limited, Gi Group Recruitment Ltd, INTOO (UK) Limited, Marks Sattin (UK) Limited, TACK TMI UK Limited and Grafton Professional Staffing Limited.
