Theunderpinning value of the work is to ensure that every pupil achieves their personal best both academically as well as emotionally.Working with the staff team to create an emotionally safe learning environment and provide advice and guidance to help develop skills in managing and improving pupils behaviour and attitudes.The main focus of this role will be: Work with other staff to create a calm and welcoming atmosphere in the School. To maintain a disciplined but flexible approach to the children, understanding that whilst they will normally respond well to routine many of the children display mood swingsand respond to issues outside of your control. Support challenging pupil behaviour. Enable students to participate in learning activities by providing support, as appropriate for their specific difficulties; Provide 1 to 1 support for pupils who are unable to access whole class learning. Be a positive, consistent role model. Support the social and emotional development of pupils and complete individual reports. Carry out administrative duties such as preparing classroom resources, displaying childrens work so that they feel it is valued and to create an exciting and engaging learning experience.Relevant Experience: Relevant experience in a SEMH educational environment. Experience of working with vulnerable children and supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ADHD, Autism Team Teach/ MAPPA Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualificationDesirableWe pride ourselves on being an Equal Opportunities Employer.
