Job Description

Experienced Supply Chain Manager required for a world leading automotive company, with a global reputation for quality, passion and performance in Belper on a permanent basis paying in the region of £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.Our client is a pioneer within its market in the design and production of high-performance vehicles developing some of the most innovative, durable and exciting all-terrain vehicles currently in production. They are seeking a highly experienced Supply Chain Managerto lead the end-to-end supply chain function to fulfil the exciting mix of existing, planned automotive and motorsport programmes, ensuring all production requirements are met to schedule and budgetThe successful Supply Chain Manager will be liaising with key internal stakeholders and utilising the broad sourcing reach and expertise of our clients parent company, you will have the opportunity to establish a new and creative supplybase to support extremely ambitious and dynamic growth plans.In return the Supply Chain Manager will benefit from a permanent role within an exciting company working a day shift Monday to Friday, salary to be discussed upon application.Key Responsibilities of the Supply Chain Manager:

  • Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will have the responsibility for the end-to-end supply chain activity
  • Utilise your experience to analyse, define, and implement sourcing strategies for current and future programmes and ensure delivery of orders to meet production and sales requirements.
  • Balance the development of the existing supply base with the identification of new suppliers, looking for new and creative solutions, additionally leverage the extensive opportunity that accessing their parent companies supply base and contacts can deliver.
  • Maximise your buying skills to achieve optimum purchasing costs and terms in line with profitability targets
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders internally to ensure a fully aligned and integrated service.
  • Manage buyers and identify resource growth needs of the department.
  • Ensure robust contractual processes are established and maintained to company standards and policies, continually reviewing and adapting where necessary.
  • Work closely with the parts department lead and other staff to establish and agree the allocation of ordering responsibilities for differing channels of existing business.
  • Deliver the programme sourcing requirements to quality, cost and time
  • Participate in programme management activity with proactive specialist knowledge and advice
  • Support motorsport event requirements where necessary
The ideal Supply Chain Manager:
  • Confident professional with a demonstrable history of working across the full general sourcing and procurement remit
  • Ability to work independently, results driven, demonstrating tenacity, perseverance with the ability to deliver operational plans in a fast-moving motorsport environment
  • A strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders to influence cross-functional engagement
  • Deliver change within the existing environment, challenge the status quo and look to develop the future vision
  • Capable of designing and implementing new processes and procedures and gaining cross business buy in
  • Ability to produce and analyse accurate reports, translating them into actionable recommendations
  • Driving licence to travel
  • Experience of automotive or motorsport industries ideally
  • Ideally capable of understanding detailed technical engineering level discussions and drawings
  • A good communicator with the ability to communicate complex ideas
