Job Description

Financial Controller (Industrial) | Belper (Flex working 2 days in the office)| £50,000 - £56,000 + Bonus Macildowie Finance is currently working on a position offering the opportunity to work for a large Manufacturing business, based on the outskirts of Derby (Belper)Recruiting for a Financial controller, this job will report to the Head of Finance for the Manufacturing division.So what is the job

  • The successful applicant will be responsible for accounting period analysis and reporting, regarding variable cost and inventory within the plant including direct labour efficiency, direct labour cost, variable production overhead, changes to Billof Materials (BoM), changes in routing, scrap and associated inventory variances.
  • Accounting period analysis, and reporting, in relation to fixed cost in the plant. With focus upon, but not limited to; personnel cost, maintenance cost and inter-company recharges.
  • Capital asset controlling for UK Plant operations. This includes capital expenditure reporting, support of capital project activity, and the capitalisation processes and periodic asset audits to ensure compliance with Group requirements.
  • Support the preparation of Business Plans, Annual Budgets, and Quarterly Forecasts for the UK Industrial Business. This includes the alignment of all topics with various members of the UK Industrial Senior Leadership Team, and ultimately with theUK Plant Director.
  • Calculate provisions, accruals and other accounting adjustments for each accounting period close. Preparing the necessary workflow journal requests for approval.
  • Support and compliance check of stock counts in the UK Plant, and ensure adherence to both Group and External Audit requirements.
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliation, compliance to accounting principles and relevant Group guidelines and policies. As well as ensuring that relevant UK Finance process documentation is complete and current.
  • Duty to ensure task completion accords with applicable legislative requirements, and compliance with published directives of the Group including associated guidance

  • Characteristics of thoroughness, self-motivation, persistence, resilience and dedication
  • Good maths and computer skills especially MS Excel and SAP
  • Background in Manufacturing is ESSENTIAL
  • Analytical and logical problem solving skills
  • An ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way with honesty and integrity
  • Open communication style with ability to finding a solution before presenting the problem
