Job Description

Head of logistics - Scotland£65,000 - £70,000pa + car allowance and benefitsA self-motivated Head of logistics with strong leadership qualities, needed to take overall responsibility for a multi-site time sensitive complex busy network in Scotland, over150 vehicles and 650+ people. This is a fantastic opportunity for a logistics professionalthat is a natural leader to make a difference.Must have contract management and vast experience of managing complex multi-site operations. Must have a CPC.Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing this busy operation on a day-to-day basis; co-ordinating the time-sensitive operation to ensure effective use of resource across the transport functions.
  • Planning the operation to ensure targets and stringent time restraints are met.
  • Continuously improve operational and financial efficiencies.
  • Delivering the P&L; preparing and analysing weekly and monthly reports and ensuring the information is accurate.
  • Ensuring compliance with HSE and HR.
Key Skills/Experience:
  • A strong attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and organising proficiencies.
  • Confident and articulate communication abilities.
  • Must have experience in managing in unionised environments.
  • Knowledge of operating in a secure environment, some knowledge of judicial systems and processes, and understanding criminal justice system operations.
  • All roles with this client are subject to a risk assessment being completed to confirm the vetting status required for the applicant / job holder to undertake the duties of the role. This role has been risk assessed as requiring Enhance Level Clearance.
  • Highly developed people management and delegation skills. With the ability to develop individual team members to their full potential.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • P&L management experience with the ability to manage and develop KPIs.
