Job Description

Fabricator (Automotive)Location: Bellshill, Lanarkshire Salary: £36,800 + Excellent BenefitsJob Type: Full - Time, PermanentThe Client:Our client is a well-established organisation in the automotive industry, offering an extensive range of municipal trucks, specialty vehicles for hire and provide contract hire options.The Role:As a Fabricator, you will play a pivotal role in welding and fabricating repairs for a wide range of commercial vehicles and equipment and perform repairs at customer or third-party premises.Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding and fabrication repairs for a variety of commercial vehicles and equipment.
  • Conduct off-site repairs at customer or third-party premises.
  • Identify additional work during the jobs progression and report to the Foreman.
  • Efficiently use parts and materials, following correct repair methods and timelines.
  • Accurately complete job cards and relevant paperwork.
  • Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is maintained to the required standard and worn as specified in site rules.
  • Request training and support for personal development and respond positively to feedback.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of at least 3 years working as a Fabricator, Welder or in a similar role.
  • Qualification in Welding / fabrication.
  • Skilled in commercial vehicle repairs, trailer body repairs, and various welding and fabrication work.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, including Alloy welding, MIG welding, TIG welding, and Stick welding.
  • Understanding of Luton van repairs, roller shutter doors, and curtain repairs.
  • Municipal vehicle experience and mechanical knowledge. (Preferred)
  • Possess LGV Class 1 licence. (Preferred)
