Job Description

MB405: Senior Installer (Rail)Location: Belfast, Northern IrelandSalary: £31,400 + Excellent overtime rates (OTE £40,000 - £45,000)Working Hours: Flexi hours Monday to FridayAdditional Company Benefits: Up to £8,000 relocation package if wanting to move to Northern Ireland, Annual Leave 25 days + BHs, Up to 5% matched pension contributions, Cycle to Work Scheme, Employee Assistance ProgrammeOverview:First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic business who are looking to recruit a Senior Installer (Rail) on a permanent basis due to growth based in Belfast. The candidate can be located anywhere in the UK but will need totravel to Belfast occasionally.Lead and direct the workforce, including Agency and Sub-Contactors, on site to ensure safety, productivity and workmanship meet necessary standards. Responsible for checking and monitoring the quality of installation works, to ensure staff work safely and efficiently.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct a team, ensuring acceptable productivity and workmanship of all team members which may include Agency / Sub-Contractors on site. Ensuring that all work complies with current quality and group / line standards.
  • Ensure productivity and workmanship of staff is of an acceptable standard.
  • Ensure all site operations are carried out safely, and in accordance with standards, report on accidents / near misses as required.
  • Assist in the planning of on site operations, and future projects.
  • Ensure all relevant site records and paperwork are completed, and left in a correct and orderly state.
  • Undertake ES, COSS, and PC duties as required, together with other relevant safety duties / briefs.
  • Use power tools and portable plant where certified to do so.
  • Carry out / assist in S.M.T.H work as required.
  • Liaise with other departments / Contractors to ensure that work is carried out and completed safety, to standard, and within allotted time scales.
  • Identify potential hazards, which may impact on the delivery of scheme / projects, and instigate methods to protection / stop this from occurring.
  • Participate in competence assessments, including IRSE mentoring.
  • Feed back all necessary information as required to those whom request / require it.
  • Ensure that all tools, meters, and vehicles are fit for purpose.
  • To undertake the role of site supervisor when requested.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Workmanship and productivity meet the required standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of Signalling Equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of rules and regulations of railway workings.
  • Minimum of 5 years S&T work experience.
  • Ability to lead staff.
  • Signalling modules SMTH, Mod 3C, Mod 5 desirable.
  • Able to drive or willing to learn.
  • PTS.
  • COSS and PC desirable.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good mechanical skills.
  • Good electrical knowledge.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • IRSE Licensed or working towards.
  • Sound knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Ability to lead / direct and motivate staff, and work as part of a team.
  • Understanding site management procedures.
  • To be decisive, with the ability to use ones initiative.
