DescriptionDescription CME Group is seeking a highly talented QA/Test Engineer - Consultant to join the CME Engineering and Execution (E&E) team in Belfast. The successful candidate will work in the QDM (Quote Driven Market) team, and deliver on projects that advance our flagship,low-latency trading platform, for the Quotes Market. Our platform must achieve a unique blend of ultra-low latency performance, the capacity to seamlessly facilitate the busiest trading days in the world economy, rock-solid reliability and integrity. An understanding of both the underlying technology and thedevelopment, testing, and deployment lifecycle of the applications will be critical. The successful candidate will be able to solve problems creatively, communicate effectively, and work both independently and collaboratively. The Test Engineer will work with application SMEs, developers, and analysts to understand complex business problems. A key aspect of the role is contributing to the design of testing strategies and detailed test plans, and the implementation of the tests agreedby the team. We automate everything. Our Test Engineers understand the criticality of non-functional requirements. They enjoy working with an application where ultra-low latency performance, reliability, security are paramount in addition to functional correctness. Principal Accountabilities Analyse and decompose business/stakeholder requirements. Involved in test strategy, planning & execution/implementation of automated test cases Act as an owner for application quality; own and drive bug resolution Maintain test framework, test environments and automated test packs Contribute to continuous improvement, improving team processes and methodologies, and following best practices. Essential Criteria Experience writing automated tests Ability to understand complex business requirements quickly, and to define clear acceptance criteria using Given, When, Then syntax Basic competency with Linux/GIT Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent problem-solving skills Desirable Criteria Use of BDD technology like Cucumber Knowledge of financial markets, financial messaging protocols, and in particular FIX. Working in an Agile environment, using Confluence, JIRA, or other Atlassian tools.
