Job Description

DescriptionJob Description - Platform Engineer III The Platform Engineering team is a collection of highly skilled individuals ranging from development to operations with a security first mindset who strive to push the boundaries of technology. We champion a DevSecOps culture and our core principals are centeredaround automation, testing, quality, and immutability all via code. The role is responsible for building self-service capabilities that improve our security posture, productivity, and reduce time to market with automation at the core of these objectives. Key ResponsibilitiesIn this critical role, youll be involved in shaping the core capabilities essential for our platforms success on GCP, including automation, workflow optimization and integration with core CME services. Your objective will be harnessing key GCP services toestablish, enhance and automate fundamental platform functionalities while emphasizing scalability, resiliency, recoverability, and compliance. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will enable and implement key data platform services, implementadvanced automation solutions and optimize workflows for seamless CICD pipelines. This opportunity offers the chance to drive the evolution of our data infrastructure, enabling the organization to leverage data insights effectively while meeting stringentcompliance, performance and reliability standards. Responsibilities: - Automate/IaC first mindset. - Build and improve self-service tools for business users utilizing the platform by close interaction and agile development. Collaborate with other teams to design and implement tools that will help automate end-to-end processes within the infrastructure. - Develop new specs, documentation, and participate in the development of technical procedures and user support guides. - Collaborate effectively with internal platform, security, SRE and networking teams to define detailed requirements and communicate clear expectations. - Communicate implementation issues, delays, and mitigation plans. - Innovate to improve future processes and deployments. Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is strongly preferred. - Proficient in Python and Bash - Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and KCC - Knowledge of workflow management tools such as Argo Workflows to orchestrate parallel tasks - Preferred experience with Jenkins, Maven, Git, Ansible, or CHEF - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. - Team-oriented individual with strong self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision. - Passionate about continuous improvement and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.
