Job Description

Role Overview: The Operational Risk Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matterand industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complexand variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analyticalskills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coachingand training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area aredirectly affected by the performance of the individual. Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work in close liaison and coordination with business stakeholders and sponsors to elicit, analyze, communicate, plan, manage, validate, and prioritize requirements and build strong professional relationship
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently understand and translate business problems and opportunities in the view of requirements, and recommend actionable solutions. Capability to perform end to end analysis to identify gaps and propose innovative and creativesolutions
  • Performs business analysis to respond to regulatory and business questions and provides end to end governance of delivery
  • Provides operational risk project management support (business requirements, analysis and testing) for delivery of Operational Risk management solutions.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile development
  • Efficient in creating and generating documents such as Program Scope, Project Scope, Business Requirement Document, Test Scripts etc as required in an Agile process
  • Ability to perform, manage and lead efficiently under tight deadlines and dynamic work environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and willingness to ask questions and challenge existing processes for operational efficiencies
  • Ability to communicate business requirements to a broad range of technical, non-technical, diverse stakeholders and team members. Exceptional interpersonal and partnership skills and the ability to positively influence outcomes, particularly in difficultmatters
  • Personable and reliable self-starter who requires minimal management oversight for day-to-day work responsibilities. Highly motivated and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Project and Product Management experience preferred
  • Coordinates audits, examinations, and deliverable requirements from internal and external reviewers by supporting coordinating activities.
  • Ensures project completion, special assignments, and other ad hoc activities as required.
  • Partners with Clients to understand and quickly respond to Client needs. Proactively seeks Client feedback to influence change throughout organization.
  • Assist Initiative manager and manage end of end delivery of program deliverables
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firms reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adheringto Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive relevant experience in program/project management and operational risk management framework.
  • Should have Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office - particularly Excel (metrics and data analysis), PowerPoint (presentation decks), and Word (writing and editing procedural and technical documentation) and MS Project. PMP Preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer focused with excellent Interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment collaborating across diverse groups
  • Demonstrated understanding of operational risk and gap identificationAbility to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to present a compelling case to influence others where appropriate
Education:
  • Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience
