Job Description

Company DescriptionIQ-EQ is a leading Investor Services group which combines global expertise with an unwavering focus on client service delivery. We support fund managers, global companies, family offices and private clients operating worldwide.Job DescriptionThe role will report into the Group Head of Legal Internal Operations and will require an individual to negotiate and draft commercial contracts across a variety of legal disciplines including SaaS, software licences, DaaS, financial services, Supplier contractsand Data Protection.This role requires experience in a financial services regulated environment with experience of dealing with regulators in the context of cloud outsourcing, with previous legal experience working with in an in-house legal counsel role in a SaaS or softwarelicensing company also essential. FinTech or RegTech experience is a plus.This role requires experience dealing with legal issues connected to outsourcing both traditional and cloud-based (including international transfers of personal data with cross-jurisdictional intra-group provision of services between different IQ-EQ officesand involving the shared service centres.Youll work as a key member of the small legal team; you will apply your commercial skills in this varied and challenging position to take responsibility for managing risk across the business in its use of technology. You will be technologically savvy andwill have an interest in legal innovation in the fields of AI, RPA, Big Data.The ideal candidate will have a track-record in delivering results in a fast-moving business and hence be comfortable with change and uncertainty. Excellent stakeholder management experience is essential to being successful in this role.Day to Day:

  • Negotiate and draft a wide variety of commercial contracts connected to technology including SaaS and software licences.
  • Work closely with our regulated entities across the business in the context of outsourcing, technology and transfers of personal data across borders
  • Work closely with IT to support them as their growth continues at pace
  • Monitor and implement data protection, privacy and compliance policies
  • Identify, monitor, research and resolve issues relating to supplier contracts liaising with external and internal stakeholders to ensure that risk to the business is minimised.
  • Support the client facing business in dealing with client issues pertaining to data protection and the groups use of cloud-based and on premise technology.
Qualifications
  • Qualified lawyer with English or Irish law experience
  • Experience working in a financial services regulated environment is preferred
  • IT contract drafting and negotiation experience essential and in-house SaaS or software licensing company experience strongly preferred
  • Experience dealing with legal issues connected to outsourcing both cloud and traditional
  • Experience in dealing with data protection issues relating to cross-border transfers
  • Solid private practice training and experience
  • In-house experience in a SaaS or technology company regulated business
  • Experience providing legal advice in a commercial environment
  • Legal experience with technology contracts (essential)
  • Ability to build strong work relationships internally
  • Technologically savvy with an interest in RPA, AI, Big Data
