Your opportunityThe Pensions Practice, Deloitte Total Rewards and Benefits (DTRB), within the Tax Service Line is a multi-disciplinary group comprising over 200 professionals - actuaries, employee benefits specialists, investment professionals and administrators, ledby seven partners. The practice advises employers on pensions and other employee benefit issues. We are a national practice with a large team in London, together with teams in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast.Deloitte has a clear commercial focus. The Deloitte Pensions team is well established and has ambitious targets for further growth. In light of this we are currently seeking new members of staff to work within our Trustee Services department which is partof Deloittes Actuarial, Reward & Analytics section. The Trustee Services team provide a full range of pension services to a portfolio of defined benefit and defined contribution occupational pension schemes. The successful candidates will be based in ourBelfast office.We take your development very seriously. And with no glass ceilings, you willbe able to make a difference here by really influencing and shaping the strategic direction of our practice.Your roleDTRB has an urgent requirement for a specialist pension payroll administrator.This is an opportunity to build a long term career with an established pensions team and to work on a wide variety of clients providing pension payroll services.The successful candidate will be involved in the provision of pension payroll services for a portfolio of 40 to 50 defined benefit pension schemes, taking on various processing and administrative duties to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the payrollfunction.A Pension Payroll Administrator will have responsibility for:

  • Ensure the accurate input of clients payroll data onto current payroll software
  • Complete and reconcile monthly pension payroll processing within agreed timescales
  • Ensure all payrolls are completed, signed-off and uploaded for payment within agreed timescales
  • Submit tax information to HMRC in line with statutory requirements
  • Assist the pensions administration with member queries as and when required
  • Provide support to the pensions administration and accounts teams as and when required

  • Proven track of payroll experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
  • Able to work to key deadlines ensuring payroll deadlines are met
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Good interpersonal skills to ensure collaboration with administration, actuarial and consultancy team
Additional desirable experience includes:
  • Experience of working on pension payroll processing
  • Experience of working in an office environment
  • Experience of using different Payroll platforms
