Job Description

The firm has a large Government and Public Services (GPS) practicewith over 2,500 dedicated partners and staff working across central government, health, education, defence, security and justice, local and regional government, not for profit and public transport.Deloittes GPS practice is one of the largest and most experienced providers of professional services to public sector clients in the UK and we are a Strategic Supplier to Government. Because of the regulated nature of procurement in the public sector, thefirm maintains a specialist team, the Public Sector Bid Team (PSBT), to manage and support its public sector bidding activity.The PSBTs objective is to provide a cost-effective means of winning work in a highly competitive marketplace and to contribute to the management of commercial risk. The team also seeks to improve the win rate on public sector bids and assist the practicein achieving its ambitious growth target.Your roleThis role is at the core of our support function for bidding and reporting across Deloittes public sector practice and reports to the Bid Operations Manager.As a Bid Operations Assistant within the PSBT, you will be responsible for:

  • Daily receipt, acknowledgement, logging and circulation of tender invitations, including retrieval of supporting information via electronic portals and monitoring action on bids through to win or loss
  • Monitoring the teams shared mailbox, responding to opportunity-related queries from the business and forwarding queries to other members of the PSBT
  • Circulating award decisions and bid feedback
  • Maintaining the master record of tenders, submissions and bid feedback
  • Notifying clients of no bid decisions and providing reasons
  • Submitting clarification questions, proposals and supporting documents to clients
  • Maintaining circulation lists for tender notices/invitations and Deloittes access to electronic portals including registration and access codes
  • Participating in and/or driving initiatives aimed at developing or improving bid support services
  • Championing our internal bid process and advising the practice on bid related matters
  • Participating in educational opportunities and maintaining personal networks
