Blue Arrow are currently looking for an assistant catering supervisor on behalf of our client, a renown University based in Belfast BT9 area Working Hours - 36.5 hours per week, working hours between Mon-Fri (Possibility of further hours on weekends depending on service requirements) Pay Rate - £12.98per hour paid weekly (Each Friday) This is an immediate start temporary position, with the possibility of extension for the correct candidate.The post holder will be required to assist the Catering Supervisor in the organisation and production of a high quality food service offered to students, staff, conference delegates and visitors throughout the campusResponsibilities * To assist with organisation, co-ordination and allocation of resources and tasks to Hospitality staff in order to ensure work objectives are met.* To supervise staff working in College catering facilities and ensure reasonable and appropriate allocation of duties, workload, overtime, staff rotas etc. * To contribute to the induction of new staff, and addressing the training and development needs of all catering staff.* To co-ordinate the provision of staff and facilities for events and conferences.* To maintain appropriate records and systems and the reporting in relation to Health & Safety and Food Hygiene policy and procedures.* To co-ordinate, organise and contribute to cleaning within catering facilities.* To participate in supervisory/ management team meetings.* To hold team meetings as required, e.g., in ., in relation to allocation of work, overtime, arrangements for special events.Essential Knowledge and Skills: Experience of supervising staff in a large scale catering operation Experience of training staff Excellent communication skills, written and oral Demonstrable experience and ability in effectively resolving conflict and/or customer complaints Experience in improving working methods within a catering area. Knowledge of current legislation in relation to Food and Beverage production and service.
