Job Description

Our client is leading facilities management company based in Beeston, Nottinghamshire and are currently recruiting for 2 x Operator/ Maintainers to join their existing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining rail delivery equipment (SCPV wagons) carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive tasks.This is a great opportunity to join a well-established company with some fantastic benefits, they have been established since the 1800s and have some long standing relationships throughout the rail, ports and MoD / Defence sector.Operator/Maintainer Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for operating rail approved wagons/equipment within possessions and undertake maintenance activities as an individual or within a team, effectively and efficiently, for emergency, repair and scheduled maintenance,in order to ensure the availability of physical resources to meet operational requirements.
  • You will be required to work at various locations in the UK which will involve working nights and some weekends.
  • Perform all operational and maintenance activities in accordance with predetermined standards of quality and performance, implementing remedial action when requested or appropriate.
  • Receive operational, service & repair consumables, oils, greases, fuel, equipment and parts utilising the specific elements on the equipment as intended with the design criteria.
  • Adhere to all Quality, Health and Safety procedures and promote safe practices of work.
Operator/Maintainer Applicant Requirements:
  • The successful candidate must have a good engineering/maintenance background and experience working as a maintainer.
  • There will be additional short courses / training provided.
  • Strong awareness of quality, health and safety procedures.
  • Strong communication skills either verbally or in writing.
  • Flexible with regards to travel around the UK and sometimes overnight stays if needed.
Operator/Maintainer Benefits:
  • £32,883 basic salary.
  • Overtime is available and varies depending on hours worked.
  • Monday to Friday between 7am and 5pm, 40 hours per week.
  • Days / Hours will vary depending on the demand of work.
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 stats.
  • Company pension scheme.
