Live -in PA / Carer / Support worker / Personal care / Graduate - NottinghamAskJules are agents for young disabled adults who choose to employ Personal Assistants to provide their care and support.Hours - approx.: Live in - 7 days on / 7 days offLocation: NottinghamStart Date: September 2023Pay & Benefits:Pay rate: £140 per day.Accommodation provided whilst on shiftOn-call support from Client CoordinatorFull bespoke training in the client’s particular requirements will be providedNEST Pension SchemeAbout the roleOur client is going into her 3rd year at the University of Nottingham, and is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to support her whilst completing her studies.Our client has an ultra-rare genetic condition called MucopolysaccharidosisType VI - (MPS 6) which is also known as Maroteux-Lamy Disease, which affects her whole body. She is a full-time powered wheelchair user will need help with everyday tasks , including clinical and personal care, as well as general household tasks such ascleaning and cooking.Prior care experience is not required, all training will be provided but someexperience is preferred.As written by our client:"It is important to encourage and be willing to help me socialise and accompany me to pubs, clubs, concerts and watching cricket matches.I need someone to respect my privacy because I do enjoy having time out on my own. However, you must be reachable via text and not be too far away.I tire very easily, so knowing when to step in and do more things for me is key - but as we get to know each other this will become evident - but being subtle is key.I need someone who is understanding and patient as it can take me longer to do things. I want to be seen as independent as possible so the help I require needs to be done very subtly. I live in self-catered halls of residence - so you will have to cook!- and you will have a separate room next to me."About YouYou are unlikely to have experience in every aspect of our clients care,therefore full training in her particular needs will be provided.
