Job Description

HousekeeperService Name: Devonshire AvenueLocation: Beeston NG9 1BSSalary: £10.10 Per hour Hours: 20 hours per week *5 hours Night shift - 4pm - 9pm*Benefits:

Ambient Support is a registered UK charity with over 25 years’ experience in providing care and support services for older people, people with a mental health need and people with a learning disability.Our Cleaner’s need:
  • Experience as a cleaner
  • Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness in accordance with an agreed schedule
  • Understanding of C.O.S.H.H regulations
  • Understanding of Health and Safety regulations and infection control
  • Commitment to promoting good practise
Our Cleaner’s duties will be:
  • To carry out routine daily cleaning of the care home environment, planned shampooing/largescale cleaning and ‘spot’ cleaning as required, laundry duties will be included.
  • To contribute to the supportive homely atmosphere where residents can achieve their independence. This will include talking with people we support as well as liaising with care staff regarding cleaning re-quirements.
  • To respect the privacy and dignity of people we support and their personal belongings.
  • To respect the confidentiality of the information concerning residents and their relatives at all time, both on and off duty.
  • To ensure all clothing is clearly named or kept separate so resident’s personal items are returned to the correct person.
  • To ensure laundry is laundered to a high standard and ironed prior to returning to residents, taking into account any specialist cleaning.
  • To maintain such records as directed this includes routine audits.
  • To ensure that sufficient supplies are ordered and available for use and a stock list is maintained and monitored.
  • Use scheme based computer equipment for completion of reports and access to information.
  • To be aware of, and follow, all relevant polices and procedures at all times.
  • To inform and discuss with the Home Manager any problems relating to resident’s care.
  • To report any defects to the fabric of the building promptly.
  • The attend and participate in staff meetings and attend training sessions regular supervision, as directed the Home Manager.
  • To work at all times in a safe and responsible manner and to observe any regulations in relation to the Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH and Safe Working practice.
  • The post holder may be directed from time to time to carry out other duties and responsibilities deemed appropriate to the post by the Home Manager
