Job Description

Are you an experienced Insurance professional with strong people skills Do you have experience of managing a team Would you like to join an established Broker, known for its outstanding service deliveryThe RoleHere at Darwin Clayton, we have an excellent opportunity for someone to join us as a Commercial Insurance Branch Manager to lead the existing business team with the support of the Assistant Branch Manager.You will join the friendly and supportive team in our Nottingham office; the main purpose of the role is to lead, motivate and manage Nottingham Commercial Division, oversee the day to day running of the office and manage the growth and retention of theclient accounts.Key objectives & responsibilities of the Commercial Insurance Branch Manager will include:

  • Managing all aspects of Branch availability and activity, in order to remain fully operational including Health and Safety and compliance
  • Support the Branch in developing a culture of successful and winning delivery
  • Lead, motivate and manage Nottingham Commercial Division to deliver compliant and excellent service to all clients, through all stages of their relationship
  • Providing a quality service to clients covering all aspects of their insurance arrangements
  • Manage the activities of the team of Client Advisers, ensuring that they are appropriately trained and competent in order to fulfil their duties
  • Support and cultivate the performance management process and encourage professional development, in line with the Company requirements including supporting specific individuals with mentoring
About youAs the Branch Manager, you’ll have experience of handling Commercial insurance risks and clients as well as leading a team.You will also be or have:
  • Experience of carrying out employee appraisals, 1-2-1’s and mentoring
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g Cert CII as a minimum) or working towards Diploma
  • At least 5 years’ experience within the Insurance industry
  • A good understanding of FCA regulations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
  • The ability to motivate others to deliver a defined vision
  • Able to prioritise and organise own and other workload
