Job Description

As Social Media Executive you’ll have a focus on getting people to watch our amazing road cycling and triathlon channels, and interacting with our audiences. You’ll make sure that as many people see – and interact with –our content as possible, and thatour viewers feel part of the community when they do so.Reporting to our Senior Audience Development Executive (Road/Tri), this is the perfect role for someone who loves cycling and has a keen interest in the media. We want someone who cares passionately about cycling, and will celebrate someone’s first 10k rideas much as their 100th 100km ride.You’ll be confident in quickly picking up our tone of voice, have a keen eye for detail, and be comfortable interacting with our audiences across all of our platforms on a daily basis.This role is based in our Bath offices.The Role:

  • Publish engaging and shareable video content to our YouTube and other social media channels for our GCN, GCN Tech, and GTN channels
  • Play a key role in optimising these posts to maximise views
  • With the team, lead on tagging content for commercial reporting
  • Help to maintain high level of community engagement across all platforms
  • Other relevant social media and community management duties as required
Skills, Knowledge & Experience RequiredSkills
  • Confident writer, with good written English, able to pick up house style and tone of voice, with the customer service skills to reply to comments or complaints from our audience, with succinct copy
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt to changes in organisational priorities.
  • An eye for detail, able to perform essential quality control checks on content, and analyse and report on themes you see emerging in our communities
Knowledge
  • An interest in, and good understanding of road cycling or triathlon, with an interest in learning about the latest racing news and technology
  • Basic knowledge of public relations principles to protect and build a brand
  • A familiarity with YouTube video publishing and community management would be an advantage
Experience
  • Good written English. You’ll be communicating with our community from day 1, so good spelling and grammar, plus the ability to write succinct copy are musts.
  • You’ll be able to communicate in writing across a range of subject matters; from promotional posts to customer service messages.
  • Experience in managing communities and/or customer service in a related area would be an advantage.
  • Written fluency in Spanish, French, German, Italian or Japanese would be an advantage, though not a requirement.
