Manucomm are currently seeking a Packaging Development Manager for a large Food manufacturer based in Wiltshire near Bath. The role of Packaging Development Manager is an integral part of the Development and Operations team , the successful candidate will lead and co-ordinate cross functional teams to deliver packaging projects , focused on sustainability, quality, operational performance, innovation , cost and customer value. The successful candidate will be fully conversant with the latest packaging technologies and initiatives to leverage relevant benefits and opportunities for the business and their customers. The role of the Packaging Development Manager will involve: ·Monitor and drive continuous improvement of packaging and related processes to deliver the highest operational and performance standards. ·Adopt a value optimisation approach to packaging; identifying and delivering total cost savings and improving quality. ·Lead and support packaging innovation and design, to create competitive advantage. ·Identify and deliver sustainable packaging solutions. ·Provide packaging expertise and support for other stakeholders. ·Increase packaging knowledge internally and keep up-to-date with market and technology trends and developments. ·Ensure packaging specifications meet the needs of the business and deliver for our customers. Packaging Development Manager Essential Experience : Expert knowledge of polymer packaging Experience across a broad range of packaging materials in FMCG Up-to-date knowledge of emerging packaging and sustainability trends, challenges and technologies. Successful track record of optimising packaging performance within a manufacturing environment Ability and desire to be both strategic and hands-on Desirable: Degree in Engineering or Science subject Diploma in Packaging Technology (e.g. IOM3 level 5) In depth knowledge of aluminium, fibre-based and flexible / laminates packaging Salary Competitive Salary + Bonus + Benefits If the role is of interest, then please send your CV with details of your full salary expectations
