Job Description

A fabulous homewares brand is looking for a positive and adaptable Merchandiser to join their Buying & Merchandising team. You will be involved in a broad range of tasks, from forecasting and managing the OTB, through to trading stock and website VM, to visiting suppliers and influencing the range plans.A commercial eye and a passion for product is key in this role, along with solid merchandising and stock trading experience. The successful candidate will be flexible, deadline driven, a great multi-tasker, and a keen team player!Duties of this Merchandiser position includes:

  • Working with the Senior Merchandiser on forecasts, looking at the OTB and financial targets, being informed by historic sales, best sellers, and slow movers
  • Ensuring buying decisions are led / influenced by sales analysis, but also a commercial approach
  • Trading stock on the eCommerce site, looking at performance and sell through, identifying and managing mark downs, etc
  • Having a commercial eye, and knowledge of product and trend to influence decision making
  • Working closely with the Buying team to develop range plans for the coming seasons
  • Liaising closely with suppliers across at intake management, pricing, etc
  • Ownership of product on the eCommerce site, including product set up, VM, stock levels, etc
  • Assist with QC process, informing and negotiating with suppliers as necessary
  • Setting up and maintenance of internal systems including new lines, new suppliers, etc
  • Reporting and analysis to key stakeholder in the business as required
  • Travel to domestics and international trade shows and supplier meetings as required
  • Working closely with both internal teams across the business and external suppliers, building strong, lasting relationships
    • The successful Merchandiser will have the following skills / qualities:
  • 4+ years’ Merchandising experience in a similar role
  • Online trading experience
  • A commercial eye, follower of trends, and a love of product
  • Experience working with WSSI needed
  • Highly analytical and numeric,with a detail-orientated nature
  • Strong excel skills desirable
  • Highly analytical and numeric, with a detail-orientated nature and ability to prioritise workloads
  • A skilled multi-tasker, with excellent organisational skills who thrives in a fast-paced role
  • Accurate, deadline driven, and proactive nature
  • An excellent communicator at all levels, both written and verbally
