Job Description

We are working with Royal Osteoporosis Society, a forward-thinking healthcare charity with a mission to improve the bone health of our nation and who are seeking an experienced and successful Media Specialist responsible for delivering all their media outreach activities.Reporting to the Media and Communications Manager, the Media Specialist will have experience of working in a national charity press office, agency or other in-house team handling media enquiries and will be responsible for day-to-day management of the pressoffice and delivery of media work.You will have:

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills including experience of drafting press releases, features, statements and other written content.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully manage relationships with journalists, spokespeople and case studies and experience with pitching and selling in media work.
  • Creative flair, a can-do attitude and innovative approach.
  • Ability to handle and interpret data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Organised approach with the ability to manage a busy workload and competing priorities effectively.
  • Good working knowledge of digital platforms including media monitoring portals, website CMS and social media.
  • Good brand awareness and experience of guardianship.
