Mechanical Design EngineerDefence SectorBath area£35-£45kIf you are you a skilled and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects, then this could be ideal for you.The company design and develop innovative mechanical solutions for a range of equipment for the defence sector and are looking for a talented individual with a passion for engineering excellence and a strong desire to make a meaningful impact.Opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and make a significant impact in a rapidly evolving industry.Collaborative and inclusive work environment that fosters creativity and innovation.Professional growth and development opportunities through ongoing training and mentorship.Competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits.For full details please apply online and one of the team at Reed will be in touchResponsibilities:Design and develop mechanical systems and components for a range of projects, adhering to industry standards and specifications.Conduct thorough research, analysis, and testing to ensure the feasibility and functionality of designs.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration and successful project completion.Generate detailed 3D models, drawings, and documentation using CAD software.Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate design concepts and optimize performance.Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges throughout the design and manufacturing processes.Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering to enhance design capabilities and propose innovative solutions.Requirements:Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks or similar) for 3D modelling and generating detailed drawings.Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.Experience with simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) and familiarity with FEA and CFD analysis is highly desirable.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.Effective communication and collaboration skills to work in cross-functional teams.Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
