Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

Infrastructure Engineer required by market leading, award winning, professional services organisation based in Bath. This will be a hybrid role with 2 days onsite per week (With flexibility).The Infrastructure Engineer will work in the Service Delivery team on day-to-day support and a wide variety of infrastructure projects working closely with the IT Service Delivery Manager.Key Responsibilities

• Act as a technical lead on infrastructure projects and problem escalation.
• Support the Senior IT Service Delivery Manager with the development, and support of the IT infrastructure. This includes working across the full infrastructure stack including servers, storage, networking, security, and cloud.
• Provide 3rd line support for issues escalated from the service desks.
• Work with end users where required such as troubleshooting performance and reliability issues.
• Carry out day-to-day administrative tasks.
• Ensure key services such as backups, monitoring and security products operate effectively.
• Identify and work proactively on areas that need improvement.
• Configuration and support of various business applications from an infrastructure and security perspective, including on-prem and SaaS, such as Dynamics 365, Power Platform, DataFactory, Sharepoint, SQL and so on.
• Manage and improve our monitoring capabilities.
• Oversee and manage the remediation of security vulnerabilities.
• Liaise with professional services to progress projects.
• Escalate incidents with service providers and vendors.
• Assist with office moves, comms room improvements and a datacentre work.
• Work with the wider IT team on projects as required.
• Produce documentation to high standard, including creating topology diagrams, configuration records and documentation of standard change procedures.

• A deep knowledge of IT network, cloud and server infrastructure including security, architecture, and optimisation
• Developed ability to plan, research and problem solve, to rapidly implement new technologies with precision and care
• Ability to implement new technologies with a good attention to detail, following best practices.
• IT certifications are desirable

Technical Skills:

• Microsoft server stack (Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server, Certificate Services, NPS)
• Disaster Recovery and Backups
• Email services, including Exchange Online, Mimecast and Egress.
• Data centre virtualisation, servers, storage and networking (VMware and HPE)
• Networking (Firewalls, routing and switching, Wi-Fi, SDWAN (HPE Aruba, Silverpeak)
• Virtual Desktops (Citrix, RDS, FSLogix, WVD/AVD)
• Microsoft Cloud services (Azure IaaS and M365 suite including Sharepoint and AzureAD P1 and P2)
• End user device management (Intune and SCCM)
• Security covering authentication, endpoints, networks, and servers)
• Monitoring (including performance and security)
• Support configuration of various
