Please keep an eye out for our email.JOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Housekeeping Manager / Senior Housekeeper with previous team leadership or people management experience, budget management, awareness and understanding of Health and Safety (COSHH) regulations and working knowledgeof cleaning methods and safe working practices within a Domestic Services Department.Working as a Housekeeping Manager / Senior Housekeeper you will provide a high standard of cleaning and laundry within the school by maintaining an efficient, costeffective, clean hygienic working environment.As a Housekeeping Manager / Senior Housekeeper you will be responsible for the management and resourceful deployment of the Domestic Services Team across two sites to enable an efficient and effective service to School users and to ensure the schools businessactivity is maintained.DUTIESYour duties as a Housekeeping Manager / Senior Housekeeper will include:

  • Oversee the Domestic Services provision. Supervise the workload of all members of the team and control allocation of work to ensure agreed schedules, deadlines and standards are met
  • Have a physical presence across both school sites and ensure standards of work are met at all times
  • Daily responsibility for health and safety of the Housekeeping team and its acts and omissions
  • Recognise individual and team performance to encourage an engaged and motivated team
  • Actively and positively engage with colleagues and the Community to ensure a
seamless service experience is created
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and encourage safe working practices are being carried out at all times
  • Monitor monthly health and safety incident reports, taking appropriate, prompt action to ensure cleaning incidents are kept to a minimum
  • Support and assist coaching new starters through their probation periods
  • Manage staff attendance: sickness absence, holiday requests, performance and behaviour, utilising the relevant policies, including providing support for staff improvement and development with the support of the Human Resources (HR) team
  • Work closely with Head of Operations on delivery and budgets of Housekeeping
  • Assist with the delivery of technical training as and when required for all cleaning staff and to liaise with Head of Operations, the Domestic Services Manager and HR to identify and put in place additional training needs for staff as and when required
  • To ensure that departmental standards are maintained at all times
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety (COSHH) regulations
  • Health & Safety qualifications are desirable
  • Previous team leader or people management experience
  • Experience managing financial budgets
  • Previous hotel management experience working within Domestic/Site management departments is desirable
  • Knowledge of the following:
o Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, SEND and Child Protectiono Health & Safety and Child Protectiono Understanding of HR Processes and Procedureso Safe working practices within a Domestic Services departmento Working knowledge and experience of modern cleaning methods/working in the Cleaning Services industryo Excellent understanding and working practice of Health & Safety policies and procedures relating to Cleaning Services
  • Leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire people
  • Ability to prioritise own and the teams workload in line with school needs
  • Excellent Customer service skills including giving clear and concise communications for instruction and guidance, both written and oral
  • Demonstrates the ability to work as a team player and encourage team working
  • Demonstrates the ability to promote positive working relationships and be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • Awareness of the responsibilities of working in an environment with young people
  • Professional, friendly and polite with a strong customer service focus
