Hostel Support Worker x 2Location: BathContract:Fixed Term Until 31 December 2020 (with likely extension subject to future funding)Hours:Full time - 37.5 hours per week (4 shifts on, 4 shifts off. We are a fun dynamic team who strive to provide a quality person centred service to some of the most vulnerable people in society.Manvers Street is a busy direct access homeless hostel offering crisis accommodation and support to rough sleepers in Central Bath.We are recruiting for currently fixed term full-time members of staff to joinour fantastic team. We deliver 24-hour support 365 days a year to help former rough sleepers out of homelessness.The role requires empathy and understanding as well as the ability to maintain clear boundaries and provide a safe environment. Some of our staff have lived experience, others have social care work experience, whilst some have just graduated from Uni and want to develop new skills. But what all the team members have in common is a strong value base and a natural affinity for people, who often have a range of complex needs.With an ability to work on your own initiative as well as being part of a team who are committed to client involvement, you will be innovative and creative in your approach to meeting client need.A 9-5 job is not what you are looking for, because you understand that supporting vulnerable people is a 24/7 responsibility.
