Job Description

  • Newly created Finance and operations Manager within a friendly, successful, and growing digital agency based in the heart of Bath
  • Working closely with the CEO you’ll take the lead role across all finance, operations, and people matters
  • Hybrid working, minimum 2 days a week in person, with additional flexibility required based on projects
This is a lovely opportunity for an experienced Finance and Operations Manager to join a c. 20 marketing agency, long standing with well-established client base and reputation for excellence. The role has been created to enable the CEO to focus increasinglyon the business strategy and lead the next stage of the businesss growth, to which the Finance and Operations Manager will work closely providing the financial, operational, and people management support and ensure the businesses smooth runningWhat You’ll Be DoingFinance
  • You’ll take ownership of the day to day financial management with the support of an external accountancy partner
  • Financial planning with the CEO against business forecast and P&L
  • Managing invoicing, supplier payments, and reconciliation etc.
  • Accounting, VAT and corporation tax planning, and payment
  • Annual end-of-year accounting and budgeting
  • Managing employee payroll
  • Cash flow reporting
Operations
  • Owning and managing all aspects of the business operations, ensuring the studio space is efficient and well-maintained
  • Business policy maintenance and development
  • Liaising with external suppliers and service providers
  • Managing incoming and outgoing mail
HR / People
  • New starter set up
  • New employee onboarding and set up, procedures, policies, health and safety etc.
  • Management of HR / People related requests, absences, wellbeing
  • People policy maintenance and development
  • Management of employee Benefits
  • Risk Assessments (Office, WFH etc.)
What Experience You’ll Need to Apply:A proven background of owning the financial and operations within a relatable SME business environment. A working knowledge of Xero accounting software is essential to apply for this position, as is the ability and enjoyment of working in an agile mannerthat requires being comfortable dealing with the unknown of what each day may hold.Youll also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong attention to detail, be proficient in excel and reporting, and have the ability to work autonomously with strong stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of basic HR practices wouldbe advantageous but not essential.Please note the position is hybrid, with a minimum of 2 days a week based in the city centre offices, however, due to the nature of this role it will also require flexibility to increase this from time to time.What You’ll Get in Return for Your ExperienceA salary of £35k - £40k, depending on experience, great work-life balance, 25 days holiday plus an extra week of paid shut down between Christmas and New Year, qualifications and personal development, enjoyable socials for all, and a voice into the futureof the business.What nextPlease send your CV for consideration.
