We are looking for a Bus Engineering Apprentice to join us for our Apprentice intake in May 2020!Do you want to be part of our energetic team of Engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of vehicles If yes, then this Apprenticeship could just be the job for you!Youll get paid whilst gaining the experience and qualifications to become a fully qualified Engineer with First UK Bus in Bath. This is a MechElec apprenticeship (Mechanical and Electrical Combined)You will be working 38 hours per week (working hours - Monday to Friday - 07:30 until 15:45)What will you be doingYoull need to be ready to roll your sleeves up and get stuck into all kinds of challenges from general maintenance and making modifications to fault diagnosis and keeping our interiors and exteriors spick and span along with learning with our partner provider who will support you throughout your learning journey with us.You will learn to understand the fundamentals of existing and emerging mechanical and electrical design and systems. You will carry out routine safety inspections and routine mechanical and electrical servicing, planned preventative maintenance and "health checks". Training will also include inspecting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems, engine, fuel, coolant and transmission systems.We want people who enjoy seeing how things work and who arent afraid to get their hands dirty, you must share our passion for achieving excellence in the smallest of detail. And take great pride in ensuring our vehicles always run efficiently, look their best and are well maintained and presented.Entry requirements Three GCSEs at a Grade 4 or above in Maths, English and a ScienceSelection Process You will be required to attend an assessment day, where you will need to complete a practical, aptitude Maths and English testing. On completion if you are successful, you will be invited to attend an interview.
