Job Description

What youll be doing: Were currently recruiting a dedicated Facilites Manager to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Defence on a full time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week.As a Facilites Manager, you will use your skills to maintain a high standard of quality work. This will include the management of theESS FM team, all third-party subcontractors and any supply chain partners that are used to support the contractual output.   • To promote a safety culture that operates in accordance with company and client Health & Safety procedures at all times
  • To ensure the delivery and quality of the FM operation is in accordance with the client service level agreement and company procedures
  • To ensure the Compass policies, procedures and controlled documents are up to date and implemented correctly in your area including HSE & One Best Way service procedures
  • To ensure the FM team are engaged and managed effectively to achieve their performance targets and the ESS Way Management promises are delivered
  • To ensure the right number of people are trained to the right skill level to deliver the required FM services
  • To manage the labour, equipment & resources budget for the contract in line with company targets
  • To manage the team in line with company procedures including conducting return to work interviews and disciplinary investigations as appropriate
  • To complete rotas, timesheets, wages & other paperwork as required ensuring that cleaning schedules are in line with the requirements of the operation
  • To manage any third-party suppliers or contractors to ensure they meet or exceed the agreed service level agreements e.g. waste, laundry, tailoring, pest control
  • Take overall responsibility for the FM service delivery on all the sites that are assigned to your area of responsibility. This may include multiple large units, remote satellite sites and minor units
  • To ensure the FM operation continually improves in all areas of the operation – Quality, Cost, Delivery & Safety
  • To liaise with the client as appropriate seeking opportunities to improve the FM service delivery and enhance the reputation of ESS
  • To work flexibly and attend off site meetings and training courses as required
  • To comply with any reasonable requests made by your line manager
  • To role model the ESS Way behaviours at all times to colleagues, customers & clients
What we’ll give: Facilities Manager - RAF Bassingbourn£27000 per annum40 hours per week Who you are: Our ideal Facilites Manager will have:
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including COSHH
  • Good numerical and written skills
  • Able to speak & understand English
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Excellent people management skills
  • A minimum of 12 months experience managing a cleaning operation in a commercial environment
  • IT literate
  • Able to work flexibly in line with business requirements including attending off site meetings
  • Educated to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Full UK manual driving licence
