Job Description

Sovereigns CIO function will enable us to leverage the investments we have already made and embrace new technology frontiersto create a modern, digitally connected business; one that delivers maximum impact and value for our customers and people.We have a great opportunity to join our Data & Analytics team as a Senior Reporting Officer on a Fixed term / secondment basis for 12 months. Based from Basingstoke, youll combine office and home working to ensure a positive work / life balance.The Role Youll be supporting the finance function by providing regular, adhoc and regulatory business critical reporting. Working with our Finance customers to understand their requirements, youll draw data together from the most appropriate systems and presentthe reports in user-friendly and easy to understand formats.Responsibilities include:

  • Leading on finance business-critical reporting, ensuring the requirements are fully scoped and reports are both accurate and delivered in the required timeframes
  • Being instrumental in providing training, guidance, and expertise to Finance BI Champions and key stakeholders within Sovereign, in order to maximise the impact of reporting business-wide and the use of PowerBI
  • Creating high-quality, accurate and timely reports for the Finance directorate using the most appropriate data sources and software at your disposal
  • As part of the wider Data and Analytics team, youll contribute to all areas of data, reporting and insight and help create a team culture aligned to Sovereigns values
What were looking forYou should have previous experience in a similar role within data reporting.Youll also need:
  • Knowledge of reporting & analysis software tools including Microsoft Power BI (Including DAX) and SQL management studio, DevOps
  • Excellent understanding of database design, table joins, views and functions, star schema models and their use in Power BI
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to a wide audience
  • To cultivate effective relationships required for your role including those across the business, within CIO and Finance
  • Ability to design self-service and dashboard reports
  • Experience of working on finance projects, and delivering financial reporting solutions working alongside financial professionals
  • An excellent knowledge of core accounting principles and activities is preferred
