Job Description

Are you experienced in Fixed Asset Accounting and looking for a new and exciting roleIts a really exciting time to join us as Sovereign have joined forces with Network Homes to form SNG (Sovereign Network Group). Together we provide over 84,000 homes and invest in communities across London and the South of England – our purpose being toprovide quality affordable homes and places that people love for generations.Weve got a fantastic opportunity for an experiencedSenior Fixed Asset Analystto join our Finance Integration team on a fixed term basis for 12 months.As part of our integration activity following our recent merger, youll be focusing on aligning fixed asset data sets, capital policies and procedures across the wider SNG, as well as exploring the design andimplementation of a single application to manage all fixed assets held by SNG.Based from our head office in Basingstoke, youll combine home and office working to ensure a positive work / life balance.The RoleYoull take the lead in driving our fixed asset integration project and initiatives forwards, providing subject matter expertise for full implementation of a single application across £6bn of fixed assets. Reporting into our Financial Controller-Consolidation,responsibilities will include:

  • Full responsibility for the integration of the fixed asset register, ensuring that effective policies and procedures are in place and all errors are identified and corrected
  • Ensuring adoption of aligned capital policies and procedures across all financial transactions within the wider Group
  • Proactively providing advice and guidance on fixed asset accounting standards to senior stakeholders, providing documentation for policy alignment and implementation of appropriate controls across the new Group
  • Providing information, analysis and reporting as required which helps drive the business
  • Process the integration and documentation of all processes within Sovereign Network Group and Sovereign Network Homes that are connected to our Fixed Asset system, Asset 4000
  • Providing subject matter expertise for the design, testing, reconciliation and implementation of an integrated fixed asset database, as well as preparing fixed asset data for migration
What we need from youYoull be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with demonstrable experience in a similar role, working within fixed asset accounting within Housing. Youll also:
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Fixed Asset registers and data base design within Housing
  • Have strong, clear working knowledge of processes and controls surrounding fixed assets and statutory account preparation
  • Have a good understanding of relevant legislation and accounting principles for Housing Associations
  • Be highly numerate and computer literate with strong Microsoft skills, including Word and Excel
  • Have a strong, clear working knowledge of management information report writing and design, including detailed variance analysis
  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills, building trusting relationships
  • Previous experience using Asset4000 would be advantageous, however training will be provided
