Job Description

Hours: 30 hours a weekWe are working in partnership witha community foundation charity, who are seeking a new Finance Manager. The foundation is an independent charitable foundation specialising in building funds and awarding grants on behalf of donors and fundholders. Their aim is to support the vital work of smaller charities,community groups and voluntary organisations across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.They are seeking an experienced and qualified accountant to work with them. This is an exciting time to join them with a new CEO in post with plans for tech transformation and an ambitious strategy to increase philanthropy and grant making.The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Fully qualified accountant (desirable) with practical experience in similar role or CIMA/ACCA/ACA part-qualified with worked experience
  • Experience of working at senior level developing systems and processes to provide solutions.
  • Proven experience of producing and presenting budgets, forecasts and monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and other financial reports.
  • Experience of statutory reporting including Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP)
  • Confident to present financial data at Board level
  • Experience in Sage, Salesforce Classic and other relevant IT functions applicable to this role
The successful candidate will be responsible for financial propriety of the charity through delivering all account functions and controls, providing timely and accurate management accounting information to the CEO, Treasure, and Finance & Investment Committee.You will be managing and reporting on c£17m assets under management, managing relationships with investment houses and key statutory bodies - e.g. Companies House, Charity Commission and HMRC. You will have a hands-on approach as the role includes everythingfrom data entry to reporting to fund-holders and the Board. The successful candidate will have the ability to work methodically and to strict deadlines and be part of a small team.
